Nothing says a sweaty summer hoedown like Sébastien Léger (Lay-zjay). The renowned dj/producer from an isolated backwoods community called Paris, France has been bumping house tunes for the past 20 years, but never quite like this.
On “Come Back”, he kicks up some dust the old fashioned way – with a trusty harmonica. Backed by some wildly groovy bass, the house track stomps away at a fever pitch, far exceeding the mere fleeting energy of many of it’s progressive counterparts. In fact, the homegrown vibe is really more post-modern than anything else, making it covertly fashionable and immensely enjoyable.
The organic instrumentation might surprise you at first coming from the self-proclaimed “arcade freak”, but then again, the harmonica is also called the french harp. And damn, Sébastien Léger sure knows how to play it. The single comes along with a remix by Hanne and Lore and the b-side “Driving Home”. All are available to download now via Beatport.
